NovaMea SA, a spinoff from EPFL and developer of advanced membranes and catalysts for anion exchange membrane (AEM) water electrolysis, announced recently the successful completion of its Seed funding round, securing $3.2 million USD in investment, as we learned today. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
This milestone supports NovaMea’s objective of contributing to the green hydrogen sector through technological advancements. The funding will be used to enhance the company’s research and development efforts, accelerate product development, and scale its operations.

NovaMea writes that it has made progress in developing membranes and catalysts for AEM water electrolysis, an emerging technology for green hydrogen production. The company recently completed its first commercial contract with an early adopter, receiving positive feedback on its products. With the new funding, NovaMea aims to expedite the commercialization of its technologies and establish itself in the sustainable energy sector.
