Power-to-X feature image showing an e-methanol production plant, a hydrogen fuel truck, an e-SAF aircraft and an e-fuel tanker, illustrating the need for reliable demand to finance synthetic fuel production. An infographic highlights the global pipeline of around 300 e-fuel projects, with 76% still in concept or feasibility, 14% in FEED, 6% at final investment decision or construction, and less than 0.1% in operation, while road transport, aviation, shipping and chemicals represent key demand markets.

Feature image illustrating the €2.1 billion eSAF funding initiative by Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, showing their financial contributions and Switzerland’s potential participation in the joint auction. A Swiss airport with aircraft, renewable hydrogen, recycled CO₂ and sustainable aviation fuel infrastructure highlights how double-sided auctions could help finance eSAF production and strengthen Switzerland’s fossil-free aviation fuel supply.

Illustration of the proposed German-French compromise on EU car regulations for 2035, showing a combustion-engine car refuelling with renewable e-fuel, the Brandenburg Gate, Eiffel Tower and EU flags. An infographic highlights the proposed 80% target for zero-emission vehicles and a potential 20% share for vehicles running exclusively on renewable fuels (VEEF).

Infographic showing wind and solar power feeding hydrogen electrolysers, illustrating a German study that finds around 35% of renewable electricity will need flexibility and that delayed electrolyser deployment could increase energy-system costs by up to €60 billion through greater curtailment and imports.
