Basel – The board of the H2-HUB Switzerland association has unanimously elected Beat Hirschi as its new president. He will take over from Arthur Janssen on 1 September. He will become CEO of Gasverbund Mittelland. He will remain on the association’s board.
The Basel-based association https://www.h2-hub.swiss/https://www.h2-hub.swiss/ has announced a change in leadership. According to https://www.h2-hub.swiss/post/01-09-2024-beat-hirschi-wird-neuer-pr%C3%A4sident-des-h2-h, the association’s board has unanimously elected Beat Hirschi as its new president. He will take over from Arthur Janssen on 1 September, who will focus on his duties as the new CEO of https://www.gvm-ag.ch/gasverbund-mittelland-ag.html in Arlesheim BL. Janssen will remain on the board of the H2-HUB association.
As CEO of https://hyundaihm.com/ in Zurich, Hirschi will contribute extensive expertise in the hydrogen industry and decarbonisation as well as a strong network, according to the press release. In line with the strategy of H2-HUB Switzerland, he will continue to drive forward the development of a hydrogen ecosystem in the Basel region together with the member companies and institutions and Managing Director Daniel Lüdin.
The business association wants to turn the Basel region into a hydrogen hub for the country. To this end, green hydrogen is to be produced using solar, water and wind energy and distributed throughout Switzerland. In this way, the members want to make a contribution to ensuring that Switzerland has a climate-neutral and secure energy supply.
