energie-cluster.ch and SPIN are joining forces to launch the new Power-to-X Congress Switzerland, taking place on 22 September 2026 at the Kursaal Bern.

By merging the long-standing Power-to-Gas Congress with the biennial SPIN DAY, the two organisations aim to create Switzerland’s central meeting point for the Power-to-X community — bundling expertise, strengthening networks, and addressing the technological and economic challenges of the energy transition together.

Strengthening Power-to-X for Net Zero 2050

Power-to-Gas and broader Power-to-X technologies are key pillars for achieving Switzerland’s net-zero target by 2050. They enable the conversion of renewable electricity into hydrogen and renewable synthetic fuels, supporting sector coupling, long-term energy storage, and the defossilization of mobility and industry.

To give these technologies greater visibility and impact, the organisers have decided to consolidate their platforms into one national congress. A particular highlight is the partnership with Réseau H2 Suisse romande (by Nomads), ensuring strong representation from Western Switzerland and reinforcing the congress’s truly national dimension.

Focus on Practice, Security of Supply and Market Development

The Power-to-X Congress Switzerland 2026 will explore:

  • Technologies for renewable hydrogen and synthetic fuels
  • Business models and economic viability
  • Market developments in Switzerland and internationally
  • Sector coupling and security of energy supply
  • Concrete use cases from Switzerland and abroad

In addition to success stories, challenges on the path to climate neutrality will also be openly discussed. The congress aims to provide participants with a clear market and regulations overview and actionable insights.

Bilingual Format to Bridge Regions

Reflecting its national ambition, the entire event will be held bilingually in German and French. The congress addresses experts, decision-makers, policymakers, investors and all stakeholders actively shaping Switzerland’s energy future through Power-to-X solutions.
