Construction starts on Austria’s largest green hydrogen plant (July 8, 2026)

RAG Austria and ANDRITZ have broken ground in Gampern (Upper Austria) on the expansion of the electrolysis facility from 2.5 to 15 MW. The new 12.5 MW plant is scheduled to come online at the end of 2026 and will produce over 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen per year from solar power – including for seasonal energy storage. Several Austrian utilities (EVN, KELAG, LINZ AG, Salzburg AG) have already reserved electrolysis capacity.
