We are very pleased to announce that Avenergy, SPIN and Swissmem have decided to carry out the Power-to-X DAYS 2024 on 6 and 7 November in Schlieren at the JED Innovation Campus.
Day 1 will be the CONGRESS DAY, with speeches, panels, networking and a focus on international activities.
Day 2 will be our second SPIN DAY, focusing on interactive workshops to collaboratively develop solutions on scaling up Power-to-X technologies, with representatives from the finance, politics, and technology sectors (including research).
Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin will kick off the SPIN DAY, and in the afternoon, Canton of Zurich Government Councillor Carmen Walker Späh will deliver a speech – among other topics about the new Competence Center for Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Power-to-X is an urgent issue. The EU and our neighbouring countries are working hard on it. They are leading the way. Switzerland could fall behind, even though we were once leading and still have the best prerequisites to play in the top league of innovation to make Power-to-X marketable. We need to catch up so that we don’t miss the boat. In our understanding, power-to-X technologies also include power-to-gas and power-to-heat as well as, in a broader sense, technologies relating to sun-to-fuel, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), waste-to-fuel, energy storage and sector coupling. Even Power-to-Food. (Finnish startup Solar Foods produces proteins with hydrogen.)

Joint solution finding in a World Café – a typical SPIN DAY approach
During the SPIN DAY we will work on solutions interactively and in workshops. Specifically, we want to work together with representatives from the financial, politics and technology (companies and science) sector to develop solutions on how these sectors can jointly tackle the upscaling of Power-to-X.
In the morning, representatives of the the financial, politics and technology sectors will explain to each other what they need for this (keynote speeches and a panel, moderated by Stephan Klapproth), while in the afternoon participants will work on solutions in workshops.
Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin has confirmed his attendance for the opening session. Canton of Zurich Government Councillor Carmen Walker Späh will give a speech in the afternoon.
